"Discipline is doing what your suppose to do in the best possible manner at the time you are suppose to do it!"

Our Mission

Nor Cal Elite was established in 2001 by Davin Johnson (UOP).  The club was established in order to allow the game of basketball to be used as a vehicle to help children in  low-income, urban and rural areas have more opportunites to the game of basketball, knowledge about healthy lifestyles and college educations.  Joined by Damond Edwards in the Summer of 2001, the club expanded to over 4 girls teams and began to compete against nationally ranked opponents.  Although our club is based in Sacramento, today we have youth participating from all over the state, including a competitive boys program!

We believe that the game of basketball along with proper coaching and mentoring,  provides life-changing opportunies through relationship-building, teamwork, problem-solving, information on healthy living and education.  Over the last 12 years our club has been successull in helping over 75 young ladies throughout our state receive full ride college scholarships to four-year universities.

Understanding that life is more than just basketball, we use the situations that arise within the game to relay important life lessons. We understand the importance of the impact of mentoring on the youth in our area.  We provide avenues for our athletes to get 1) Education and SAT training, 2) Core training and nutrition information and 3) Positive mentoring from professional athletes, business professionals, authors and educators.  We encourage our players to get involved in community activites. (ie, book reading and mentoring elementary aged kids)  We also provide skill training, camps and clinics, to assist with their costs.

Our true is goal to help create leaders from within our community, who will continue to increase our vision for health and education and expand our reach.
