Meet Monty Buckley,Boys Director/Coach

Former Cal Berkeley Star, Monty Buckley, returns to Sacramento in a big way! Monty was a standout in Sacramento as a high school, where he was named Metro Player of the Year.  Buckley went on to play for University of California, Berkely from ’92-’95, and quickly established himself as the team’s best defensive player and a deadly long range shooter.  He was joined by NBA Star Jason Kidd in his sophomore season, whom he played with for two years. In his senior year, Buckley lead the team in scoring with an average of 16.1 points per game.

After playing 4 years at Cal, Buckley was signed by the Golden State Warriors and served three years in the NBA.  From there Monty went on to play in the Phillipines, Argentina and a host of other places.  After pursuing his dream of playing at the professional level, Buckley then quickly established himself as one of the biggest names in basketball training and National AAU Basketball. Building a budding group of young players and establishing his team as a nationally ranked 8th grade boys team, Buckely solidified himself as a viable resource to all youth players in his area.

My aim is to do whatever it takes to contribute to the success of all the student-athletes I come into contact with.

Meet Coco Davis, Coach

From the soulful streets of New Orleans to the tough neighborhoods of Sacramento, Coco Davis has learned to take in the good with the bad in order to maintain her grasp on her dreams.  After starring at Sacramento High School where she led her team to Two Section Championships.

Coco went on to join her sister and accepted a full ride scholarship to San Diego State University.  During her career there, she would lead not only her team, but the entire Mountain West Conference in assists and placed 6th nationally.

Coco was also a recognized "Scholar Athlete" from her sophomore through her senior years and graduated with a 3.2 GPA in Sociology.   Undecided what to do after college, she realized that basketball was still where her heart was and began pursuing a career in hoop after college.  It seems that things have definitely been working out.

Coco has been playing ball overseas and soaking up more culture along the way.  She has played in the top division in Israel for Hapoel Petah Tikva and has played for the Arab All-Womens Sports Tournaments for Sharjah Ladies Club in Dubai.

This summer, Coco rejoins Nor Cal, but this time as a coach and mentor to others.  We are proud of her success and glad to have her home!

Coco's Vision

I want to share my abilities and talents to help others reach their highest potential.
